1) Infections. Usually the effect of an infection is minimal, but if we’re talking about the STDs (sexually transmitted diseases), it might be a cause for male infertility.

Chlamydia is a disease that can do serious damage leading to infertility if it’s not treated on time.

Mumps affect the glands below the jaw and usually doesn’t lead to infertility, but if the virus affects the testicles can cause a disease called mumps orchitis. This can cause abnormal sperm count or motility.

UTIs – Urinary Tract Infections. Regular UTIs on man may suggest an immunological problem.

2) Physical symptoms. Some of these symptoms may suggest an underlying infertility disease. Among physical symptoms of infertility we can remind:

Undescended testes are surgically corrected at a young age, but you have to mention your doctor especially if the correction might have caused hernia. If the disease wasn’t treated the scrotal sac will feel empty. This infertility condition is called cryptorchidism.

Swollen testes. If a men feels like his testicles are swollen this may suggest a disease called epididymitis- the site of sperm storage (epididymis) becomes inflamed.

Vasectomy reversals are not successful all the time and other conditions can appear such as: azoospermia, blockages or sperm problems.
